Just back from my Bangkok trip with dear.
We had been planning this trip for a few months after the Penang trip. Actually, we were choosing between Taiwan or Bangkok. After a few months of considering and discussing, we decided on Bangkok. A place where is more affordable and a shopping paradize for us plus we want to be oversea only a couple of days.
Again we need to discuss on flights, hotel and the dates. The most headache thing is the days to go to Bangkok. We can only apply leaves either in late August or early September. According to the available promotion flights, we can only choose to go in late August. Initially, we wanted to go in early September as we wanted to avoid travelling during the ghost festival month (7th lunar mth). A month that most chinese will choose not to go overseas. Both of us felt that it was alright as the most important thing is that both of us able to apply leave on that week.
Hotel: Baiyoke Boutique
Air flights: Jetstar Asia
Insurance: AIG
Finally the day had come, we set off to Bangkok. The night before departure day, I stayed overnight at dear's home. Perhaps due to excitement, i did not have enough sleep with only a few hours sleep. Then early in the morning, dear's parents brought us to airport. We reached there an hour before the departure time and we were almost late to check in. Luckily, we made it in time. The first time ever for me to take Jetstar Asia flight. The only comment i can give is that uncomfortable and limited space for every seat except for the front row.
After a couple of hours, we reached our final destination - Bangkok airport around 10plus (Singapore timing) . Then we straight to take a cab to our hotel. The journey to th
ere took about 2 hours plus..The time took from airport to hotel supposed to be only 40 minutes but it end up to be unexpectedly long due to traffic jam and the partly reason was due to the RIOT at there hindered the whole traffic. The taxi fare supposed to be around 200 baht and jumped to 465 baht. Faint~... Anyway the only good thing is that the taxi meter at there jump alot slower than in here.. hahah.. Soo it still alright for both of us.
However, we reached around the time around 12pm (Singapore Timing) then we needed to wait for another 3 more hours before we could check in. So we left our luggages at there and we headed straight to our shopping mall. HAHHA!!!!..
As we walked, we bought the street food.. Wow so many stuff to see to buy and to eat. We never stopped eating the moment we reached.. hhehhe so happy. Then by around 3pm (Singapore Timing) we back to our hotel.
I was expecting nice and spaceous big room.. As i read the comments from the forum were good. When we opened the door, the only word flashed in my mind ----> SMALL.. Though the photo is the same as what we saw from the website but the size of the room is not up to my expectation.. Anyway, it is still considered cheap and not bad hotel. Likewise the toilet is not as good as i used to stay in..
The first 2 nights we went as planned (Itinerary)... The 2nd night we went to Lebua Hotel (First class hotel). We went there as dear's colleague said that the sky bar is a topless bar at 64 floor. We can see the whole Bangkok
night scenary... The moment we stepped in, "WOWOW.. BEAUTIFUL" I just could not stop saying the word "WOW!" We ordered cocktails and admiring the beautiful bangkok night scenary.. Sooo beautiful.. Then we took photos too.. Oo ya.. At there, we also got to know a couple from Switerland.. They are sooo tall.. I was just like a dawf when they stood beside me.. They are friendly, chatty and easy going friends.. In overall, we had a good chat with them..

However, at that night, dear had a bad night. He did not have a good sleep as he was having diahrrea and vomitting throughout the whole night, followed by high fever. Immediately the next morning, it was my turn to be the same as him.. Soo sad.. What we planned to go to Chinatown on the 3rd day. It end up to be at there for less than a hour but both of us can't "TAHAN" and we back to hotel room to stay at there for the whole day to rest. I was soo sad.. I have alot of stuff not bought at there. T_T
The 4th day, the day that we were returning to Singapore. Both of us were just recovered from this food poisoning but we were soooo energetic.. Left only the last few hours for us to do the last minute shopping. Still i bought a few and so do my DEAR.. And still not enough money for us to spend tooo. Next time we should bring more $$$$$. hahah..
The only upset thing is that we wasted a day not to shop in Chinatown.. However, it is still a good trip for both of us.. Plus we felt lucky that we went there last week but not this week as it is not advisable to go there due to riot. According to the news reporting that the riots at there are getting worse.. Hopefully the singaporean at there are not affected by this riots.
Cheers. =)
